Born and raised in the heart of Philadelphia, Bruce Melendez grew up surrounded by the city’s fast-paced energy and diverse culture. As a teenager, a life-changing move took him to Florida, where he found himself in a completely new environment. It was there that he discovered an unexpected passion - cutting hair. What started as a hobby, giving friends and family fresh cuts in the garage, quickly turned into a dream of becoming a professional barber.

Determined to refine his craft, Bruce dedicated himself to learning the art of barbering while also serving his country. He enlisted in the Army National Guard, where discipline, leadership, and service became second nature to him. Throughout his eight years in uniform, he continued cutting hair for his fellow soldiers, while operating as a barber in Lakeland, FL earning the nickname “Sharp” for his clean fades and precision cuts.

After completing a deployment, Bruce was ready to turn his passion into a career. On November 11, 2011 ( Veterans Day ) he opened the doors to his very own barbershop, a place where the community could come together, and every client could experience top-tier grooming with a personal touch. Built on the values of hard work, dedication, and service, his shop became more than just a business, it became a symbol of resilience and a tribute to the discipline he gained through his military service.

Today, Bruce “Sharp” continues to perfect his craft, mentor aspiring barbers, and serve his community - one haircut at a time. His journey from a Philadelphia teen to a successful barbershop owner is proof that passion, perseverance, and purpose can turn any dream into reality.
